Dear cookies, we need to talk...

January 29, 2017

Confession. I ate probably four nestle tollhouse cookies last night. I'm talking fresh, out of the oven gooey deliciousness. Man oh man, my mouth is watering thinking about them. Raise your hand if cookies are your weakness. No? Well for the sake of this to work, pretend your weakness is cookies for about five minutes.

Junk food, especially food including high amounts of sugar, is extremely addicting. We eat one cookie to satisfy our craving....and suddenly we're back in the kitchen silently eating cookies hoping that nobody hears us. OH FOR SHAME! Send me to cookies anonymous.

Hold the phone. Yes I ate the cookies. Sure, I had more than the one cookie I intended. What I am not going to do is let the cookie fiasco ruin the rest of the week. We all have our moments of pure indulgence, but don't let that moment turn into a month. Here's my plan for the next week to avoid the remaining morsels of pure gooey goodness.

Step 1) Make justin eat them all ASAP.

Step 2) Just kidding. Though it's amusing thinking about!

Step 3) Okay now for serious steps. Have meals entirely prepped for the week. If I have food on hand ready to be eaten, I am less likely to indulge in junk.

Step 4) Flavored water. I will never stop craving sweets, but I can beat that down with naturally sweet drinks (or my new infuser water bottle!).

Step 5) Tell EVERYONE that I will not be eating junk food this week. The more people that know, the more can slap those cookies from my hands.

Step 6) Stay hydrated. Usually when I feel hungry, I'm really just thirsty.

Step 7) Stay busy. I'm a bored eater. Last week when I sat at my desk all day, I snacked constantly.

Most importantly, don't beat yourself up if you DO eat the cookies. This is a marathon, not a sprint. So put on some good music, pump yourself up, and don't eat the damn cookies.

Xoxo 🍪

About Me.

Hey there!

My name is Sarah and I live in Northern Michigan with my boyfriend, our fur pups, and my pet mini pig. I enjoy hunting, hiking, fly fishing, cooking, reading, crocheting, adventuring, and cuddling my pooches. I am on a journey to become my happiest and healthiest self, and am working to inspire others with my journey.

I have a love/hate relationship with cardio, don't always have motivation to workout, love donuts, and struggle to eat all my veggies. Sound like you? Good! You're not alone. If you are going to fail, fail forward. <3
